Brazilian and American, she is carioca. Sonia Peyroton arrived in San Francisco years ago and established herself among artists and musicians. Multi talented she designs websites, teaches Portuguese, and now is a producer of the most recent event in San Francisco that combines art and music. Both cultural expression of her home country is spiced with the American taste of curiosity.

Sonia decided to create an event that reunites diverse talents during an evening of fun and cultural exchange. Learning about our artists, musicians, singers and song writers surrounded by sounds and images transcends every diverse cultural experience. According to the Website http://www.ibrazil.netBraziLive will be the an event in which bands will perform the best of Brazilian dance music such as Brazilian funk, hip-hop, Msica Popular Brasileira (MPB), ax, samba, pagode, forr, chorinho, batucada and more. Every night will feature an up and coming DJ.

The night will be open at 9pm with an art exhibit. Showcases will range from photography to painting, artisan crafts, sculpture, collage art and more, with new artists highlighted every week. Emerging and accomplished musicians and performers promise to surprise! If you did not hear about it and would like to show your talent, please visit: http://www.ibrazil.net/booking.htmland book your appearance and prepare your best performance. (email: booking@ibrazil.net)

For the first night June 7th , Silvia Stocco opens the art exhibition. Silvia is described by Z Handley in her website as a free-spirited artist whose conceptual body of work consists in a selection of personal images showcasing photography as a means of independent self-expression and the purely creative image making process as a medium for the imagination" (http://www.myspace.com/silviastocco)

After the socialization and contemplating Stoccos art Photography it is time to present Nobody from Ipanema (http://www.nobodyfromipanema.com) a band that is a mix of Brazilians and Americans playing Brazilian music in the most diverse genre: pop, reggae, forro, frevo, percussion, funk, samba reggae, afoxe and samba. Dave Eresian (Vocals and Guitar), Aurea Onorato (Vocals), Scott Johnson (Drums and Vocals), Velvi Appleton (Guitar, Keyboard, and Persussion), Paul Eastburn (Bass), Emiliano Benevides (Percussion), and Urubu Malandro (Percussion) will rhythm you out. The Dj Vavavoom will shake you afterward.

Every Thursday BraziLive will be host at El Rio a venue situated at the heart of Mission (El Rio -

3158 Mission St
(@ Cesar Chavez, San Francisco, CA 94110). There you will find the beautiful Carmen Miranda blessing the patio, at the bar you can easily order caipirinha or guaran, and around the bar you can enjoy a nice conversation with the owner Dawn Huston, who is the sweetest Brazils culture admirer you can meet.

Your Thursday nights will never be the same after BraziLive. Bring your loved ones; bring grace, creativity, love, and what else you consider worth to share. We are already gifted with all these talents; however to be present when they perform is to experience opening the gift package!
